Jenny's Story:
The Power To Choose
Was Taken From Us

Because We Believe Everyone's Story Needs To Be Told

Like many others, the power to choose life was taken from my husband and I. But our family survived intact. I feel sometimes like the soldier who survived the battle which took the lives of his comrades. My friends did not plan their lives with the thought that they would abort their child.

Some of my friends were in situations where their choice was taken from them by a person/or persons in their life they either trusted or feared.

I share my story to encourage others and to give God glory....I am so happy my husband fought for our child. We did not choose to abort but the power to choose was taken from us. Our son is now 32. A loving husband, brilliant musician, audio engineer, and speaks multiple languages fluently.

...But his beginning was filled with uncertainty. Barely into my fourth month of pregnancy I began having up to 100 seizures a day, and was in a drug induced coma for two weeks, including on a respirator. Doctors gave little hope for our child even becoming viable. Massive medications had shut my body down to the point that I required blood transfusions. I was flown to a hospital 100 miles away for an abortion to save my life.

It did not happen, thanks to God. It was not easy up to his birth. Doctors continued to remind me of the risk that the baby would be adversely affected, brain damaged, or brain-dead, and that we had "options”. Even at his birth the doctor in attendance told my husband he might not live through the day.

What a joy his life has been. How happy I am to be a Mother!
